Per un profilo di questo tipo si pu\u00f2 costruire una tabella, una parte della quale \u00e8 riportata qui sotto. Nella prima colonna mettiamo il valore del pixel, che \u00e8 rappresentato con un byte, e dunque va da 0 (nero) a 255 (bianco). Nella seconda colonna possiamo, per comodit\u00e0 e curiosit\u00e0, indicare i valori K come li indica Photoshop (cio\u00e8 da 0 a 100 in senso inverso, da nero a bianco).<\/p>\n<p>In terza colonna ci sono i valori della prima colonna normalizzati tra 0 e 1 (cio\u00e8 divisi per 255). In quarta colonna ci sono i valori normalizzati elevati alla potenza 1.801; in questa colonna ci sono dunque i valori del fattore di luminanza Y (tra 0 e 1). La quinta colonna \u00e8 la quarta moltiplicata per 100, in modo da avere i valori del fattore di luminanza Y compresi tra 0 e 100.<\/p>\n<p>Queste sono alcune righe della tabella:<\/p>\n<table \/>\nProfilo di stampante<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Se il profilo \u00e8 di classe output e la curva \u00e8 a tabella, la lettura \u00e8 un po&#8217; pi\u00f9 complicata. Innanzitutto quando si ha a che fare con stampanti \u00e8 consuetudine, nella pratica, partire dal bianco (della carta) e arrivare al nero (dell&#8217;inchiostro), al contrario di come viene implementato dal profilo.<\/p>\n<p>Poi, per la curva della stampante \u00e8 consuetudine indicare l&#8217;andamento della curva come <em>dot gain<\/em>, o ingrossamento del punto, detto anche TVI (<em>tone value increase<\/em>) che oggi \u00e8 il termine preferito e raccomandato.<\/p>\n<p>Prendiamo per esempio la curva kTRC del profilo Gray-Matte, riportata qui sotto.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7628\" style=\"border: 0px none;\" title=\"bw_graymatte3\" src=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/www.boscarol.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/bw_graymatte3.jpg?resize=420%2C432\" alt=\"bw_graymatte3\" width=\"420\" height=\"432\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/www.boscarol.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/bw_graymatte3.jpg?w=420 420w, https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/www.boscarol.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/bw_graymatte3.jpg?w=291 291w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Intanto ruotiamo la curva, per quanto si \u00e8 detto sopra. Adesso da sinistra a destra e dal basso verso l&#8217;alto, si va dal bianco (carta) al nero (inchiostro), come si usa nella pratica. Il bianco \u00e8 indicato con 0 e il nero con 100.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7629\" title=\"bw_graymatte4\" src=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/www.boscarol.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/bw_graymatte4.jpg?resize=277%2C271\" alt=\"bw_graymatte4\" width=\"277\" height=\"271\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Andiamo a calcolare il valore di Y corrispondente a 50, che \u00e8 76. La differenza tra 76 e 50 (rappresentata dalla freccia rossa) \u00e8 26. Quindi in termini di <em>dot gain<\/em>, la curva esprime un ingrossamento al 50% del 26%.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trasformazione da gamma a dot gain<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00c8 indifferente dare una curva TRC in termini di gamma o in termini di <em>dot gain<\/em>. La curva di una stampante \u00e8 normalmente data in termini di <em>dot gain<\/em>, ma si pu\u00f2 dare in termini di gamma; e normalmente la curva di un monitor \u00e8 data in termini di gamma, ma si pu\u00f2 dare in termini di <em>dot gain<\/em>. Ecco due esempi. Una curva TRC con gamma 1.8 a quale <em>dot gain<\/em> corrisponde?
