I'm will try and get to this Seattle show from San Francisco, but if Nina's coming all the way to the West Coast, I'm curious... is this her only scheduled performance on this trip? (i.e., nothing in California? San Francisco would love to have her...)

Please keep me updated, and I would love to write a review if I make it...

            Dear Mauro Boscarol,

This website really is something.  I have been a fan of Nina's for years, as well as a serious classical concert pianist in training.
Obviously, it is songs like "Love Me Or Leave Me" that leave me most in awe of her genius.  Does there exist, anywhere, any sheet music for the piano of that song? Her counter-point is an incredible play on Bach's two-part inventions, and is far to complicated to pick out from the CD.  The version I have is that from the CD, "Let it All Out".  I have been trying to locate this for over a year, until a friend directed me to your site.  Also, could you send a list of US concert dates? Any info regarding "LMOLM" would be enormously appreciated. Please, either e-mail, phone, write, or send anything.
    Sincerely,      Kevin Simmons

Like many of your correspondents, I'm trying to get hold of the sheet music for "My Baby just cares for me". In fact I used to own a copy which I've mislaid, but I'm wondering if there is a version of the arrangement as she recorded it (and as used in the Aardman animated version) with the walking bass.

Because I would like to play the song "My baby just cares for me" on the piano I wonder how I can get the music on paper. I'm talking about the way Nina Simone did it.
I ordered this piece of music, but when I looked at it it was not exacly the same as I remembered. The man at the music store said that he needed to know the name of the arranger but I don't know his name, maybe you know it?
    Thanks anyway!

The song you are looking for is "You've got to learn" (this is the English translation of the French song "Il faut savoir" by Charles Aznavour).

You can find it on the LP I Put a Spell On You (reissued as CD). Unfortunately, I don't have the English lyric for this song. Have you?

I've searched high and low, but to no avail. There are three tracks in particular that I'm looking for that I've not been able to locate on recent compilations or re-releases. The names of the tracks are - Where Can I Go Without You; Just Say I Love Him and Turn, Turn, Turn.

I've listened through almost every Nina Simone compilation in the record shops here but I can't seem to locate it.

    Hi Bruce
I think the song you are lookig for is "Funkier Than A Mosquito's Tweeter".
Nina has recorded this song only during the session of 1974 in New York
and this recording has been published only on the LP *It is Finished*, now published as CD also.

On The Nina Simone Web you can find session, albums and lyric of this song.

    Happy to help.

Do you have any idea if it has all the recordings or just a selection of them?. Also, I've just learned thru your site that Town Hall is available on CD, but remastered in '88, how does it sound compared to the remastered version of "You can have him" on "The Best of Colpix" CD?

    I found your Website wounderfull!!!!

    Please Note:
I am writing to you using my Dad's e-mail address, so when/if you answer, please specify that your message is for me (Pascale Archambault.)
