    Hi Mauro

Your page is still the best Miss Nina page!
But I was wondering if you could help me with something.
You may have heard the song "Feeling Good" by Huff & Herb.  I know that it is an old Nina song, and the new version is really good.
    But…
Did Nina record the song again, or did they just sample it?
Why dosen´t it say Huff & Herb feat. Nina Simone?
There´s an other song spinning around called "Its a new day" by Twister.  Is this a sample from Nina?
It sounds almost like "Feeling Good", it it an other version?
    Did Nina authorize this songs?

By the way, some idiotic TV-host said that Nina Simone were dead!!!
Tell me that nothing bad has happend, OK?

    Linda.

    Mauro,
I am Nina's nephew. I live in Forest City, North Carolina which is about 35 miles from Tryon. I haven't talked to Aunt Nina in a while or to my cousin Lisa but I was wondering if you could give me more information on how to contact Lisa. I have Nina's address and phone number but she is always busy. My name is Jonathan Thomas but I am using someone else's e-mail because I currently don't have an e-mail address.
If you should come in contact with either of the Simone's, mention my name and it will be verified. Thanks for your help,

    Mario,

Your NINA SIMONE web page is fabulous.  Quick question:  Do you have contact information for Dr. Simone (i.e. her management or agent's name); I am an author interested in including her in a book project I'm working on and would like to forward her some materials with details on the project.

Any assistance you could offer would be of great help.
    Thank you for your time,

    Hi Mauro,
Nina's daughter, Lisa, is now performing on a national tour of the hit musical "Rent" throughout America. Her stage name is Simone! and she has been getting excellent reviews for her powerful voice and acting skills. She was also an understudy for the same Broadway production of "Rent". I'm proud of her because we use to sing together in Europe where she was in the Air Force and stationed at Rhein Main Air Force Base in Frankfurt, Germany. After she left the Air Force she decided that she wanted to become a performer. I'm glad she is successful because her mother never supported her as a fan and as a mother.
I also forgot to mention that she spent several years in the musical "Jesus Christ Superstar" . It was the 25th anniversary national tour with Ted Neeley who was the original actor who played Jesus in the movie and on stage. Lisa had changed her name to L' Simone at the time and she played the role of Mary.

    Thank you

Hello, my name is James Holmes.  I am a freshman college student at North CArolina A&T State Uni.  I am doing a presentation on the poem "To Be Young, Gifted, and Black.  While looking for information on Weldon J. Irvine, I was unable to find anything about him.  I found lots of information on Nina Simone.  I began to get confussed because in a book the poem only gives the name Weldon J. Irvine as being the author.  But in sources of Nina Simone, she and Irvine are listed as authors.  Could you please e-mail me with more information about the situation.  On who is the actual author of the poem.  And how Nina and Weldon are associated as soon as possible.
    THANKS

    Dear Mauro,

I had the most pleasant surprise last night while watching the local nightly news(I live outside of Washington, DC). A very Beautiful young woman spoke on behalf of the cast of the Broadway musical, RENT, which just arrived in Washington DC. After she spoke, the commentator acknowledged that she was the daughter of the legendary Nina Simone. The little girl who was in one of Nina's publicity photos is all grown up now and has apparently found work in the arts.

Were you aware of this? By the way, thank you so much for creating this website. It is definitely the best website in honor of a true diva!!

    Thanks a million, Mark Plummer

    hello,

i e-mailed you awhile ago, but received no reply. i noticed the biography of Exuma (Tony McKay) on the Nina Simone website. you mentioned that someone named Susan Maloney sent you mail in February, saying that she was putting together a tape about Exuma. i wanted to know if i could get a copy of this tape. is there any way to get in contact with Susan Maloney directly?

    thank you..........brett

mail forwarded to Susan Maloney; Susan reply:
Hi Mauro: I received this e-mail today which you forwarded.

If this is the same person who wrote from Chicago a few months ago, I did e-mail him a letter, but it appears that he did not get it. On this note I do not have bretts e-mail address, could you get it for me and I will e-mail him, or you can e-mail this note and let him know my address is fanant@erols.com.

Thanks so much Mauro, I hope all is well with you. And I have not forgotten your tape, I think I will be doing them soon.

    Love, Susan

I know this may sound absurd, living in Alaska etc., but I may have found some of Ms. Simone's original recordings. I have been one of those with no talent, but with some reason to appreciate the beauty that was impossible for me. I've always loved Ms. Simone's beautiful voice, as well as the almost incomprehensible delivery. Bottom line is her voice is without parallel.
The possibility of obtaining these recordings is still rather remote. I have no desire to profit from pursuing, but if you would like will do what I can. I will ask only one thing: all or any of her recordings on one tape that I may take out with me this summer when I'm, once again, prospecting and- with some luck- mining gold. I doubt that you have a hint of what I'm talking about, as most sane people don't: all I can say is that Gold is not only a compulsive pursuit, but an obsessive one. Oh well, any response is, and and will be, appreciated.
    Thank you, Jim Hill
