Can you recommend a cd or cd's containing the songs "My baby just cares for me" and "I got it bad and that ain't good"?  In Kingston, Ontario, Canada, where I live, such cd's cannot be found. My friend at the Record Store told me he would order the cd or cd's if I can locate a cd/cd's containing these songs.

I would be most grateful for any advice you can offer.

    Monsieur Boscarol,

I wish to buy a cd or cd's containing two songs: "I got it bad and that ain't good" and "My baby just cares for me".  Where I live, Kingston, Ontario, Canada, I can't find a c-d with either song.  Apparently, the Tomato label, which contained the latter song, is no longer produced.

Can you recommend a good cd or cd's containing these songs?  In that regard, I prefer not to buy a compilation, but of course I will settle on it as a second choice.

Thank you for your kind attention to this request.

I had heard "My Baby Just Cares For Me" off of the Stealing Beauty soundtrack, and I fell in love with the simplicity and the soufulness of the song.  So I was wondering, what would you say would be the most comprehensive albums for me to get?  No way can I, as a starving college student, afford to buy six or seven CDs, but I would like some more of
her music.  By the way, I love the page.

I own no Nina Simone recordings but am tempted after hearing a version of "Sugar in My Bowl" (or something like that) in a movie soundtrack.

However, there's such a complete discography here, it's hard to know where to start. Do you have recommendations on the best 2 or 3 albums to start with?

Hi, I saw your Nina Simone web page, and thought you might be able to help me out. I really love the version of "My Baby Just Cares For Me" off of the _Stealing Beauty_ soundtrack.
After hearing this, I started looking into her other work. So I had a friend of mine make up a tape of her stuff.
Listening to the tape, I liked "I Put a Spell on You" and "Love Me or Leave Me," but didn't really like any of the rest of the stuff. I also heard an old version of "My Baby Just Cares For Me," and I didn't really like that either. What I liked about the _Stealing Beauty_ version was the simple interaction between her voice and the piano. Her older recordings seem to be much more *grand*. (I guess that's as good of a word as any.)

So what I want to know is, are there any other recordings by her which are similar to the recording of "My Baby Just Cares For Me" on _Stealing Beauty_?

BTW, You are missing two covers that I know of.

    1. "I Put a Spell On You" was covered by _Creedence Clearwater Revival_
    2. "Little Girl Blue" was covered by _The Afghan Whigs_ on their EP _What Jail is Like_

    Hello Mauro,

I'm a music lover from mexico, who is now trying a new genre, could you tell which is the best Nina Simone album, or which could be the best choice to start with? I really don't know much about jazz or jazz related musicians, i'm into progressive rock like yes, and emerson lake & palmer, but really like some other genres and sounds, i definetly like Loreenna McKennitt and some New Age artists. So please... help me!!!

    Sincerely, Armando Betancourt.
