Come On Back, Jack
1961 Leon Carr, Mort Shuman
This song was meant as an "answer" song to Ray Charles' massive hit, "Hit the Road, Jack". In his 2003 tome, "Stu Who?", the producer Stu Phillips recounts how this song had been written specifically for Nina: "Since time was of the essence, I got the song to Nina as quickly as possible. She said she liked the song, but should not record it unless Ray Charles personally said he didn't mind her following up his record..."

The Lord knows I've made one
But baby forgive me half a chance
