Così ti amo
1967 Barry Gibb, Robin Gibb, Franco Boldrini, Gino Paoli
This is the Italian translation of "To Love Somebody" by Bee Gees.

The song "To Love Somebody" was written by Barry Gibb (leader of the Bee Gees) in the Spring of 1967. The Bee Gees recorded the song in the Summer of 1967, while Nina recorded it in December 1967.

On 1967 Franco Boldrini, leader of the Italian band I Califfi (based in Florence) writes the Italian lyrics of the song. The Italian version, entitled "Così ti amo" is credited, in addition to Franco Boldrini, to Gino Paoli (the law on copyright provided that at least one of the authors were associated to SIAE, and at that time Franco Boldrini was not).

I Califfi recorded "Così ti amo" at the end of 1967 and the single was released in March 1968. The song has been very successful (in fact become the most successful song of I Califfi) and was subsequently recorded also by Mal and Pooh.

Nina Simone was in Italy in November 1969 for a concert at Teatro Sistina in Rome. On that occasion, in the studios of RCA Italiana, Nina recorded "Così ti amo" (above, a picture of the acetate disc). The single will be released by 1969 and the LP in 1970.
