I love you Porgy
Don't let him take me
Don't let him handle me
And drive me mad

If you can keep me
I wanna stay here
With you forever
And I'll be glad

Yes I loves you Porgy
Don't let him take me
Don't let him handle me
With his hot hands

If you can keep me
I wants to stay here
With you forever
I've got my man

I love you Porgy
Don't let him take me
Don't let him handle me
And drive me mad

If you can keep me
I wanna stay here
With you forever
I've got my man

Someday I know
He's coming to call me
He's going to handle me
And hold me so

It's going to be like dying Porgy
When he calls me
But when he comes
I know I'll have to go

I love you Porgy
Don't let him take me
Honey don't let him handle me
And drive me mad

If you can keep me
I wanna stay here
With you forever
I've got my man

Seems like only yesterday, I remember it was back in the early sixties when I first travelled north to Philadelphia, when a friend of mine told me of an engagement in Atlantic City, New Jersey. So he spoke to the club owner and he succesfully achieved that goal. It seems that the club owner was expecting a singer and me, I, I was a pianist, I've never been a singer, I was a pianist. And he said to me, he said: "Listen , young lady, if you wanna keep this job, you gotta sing. Can you sing, Nina?" And I said: "Well, I've never sung before, but I know one song, one song, and it goes like this:

I love you Porgy
